As I walked over to the famed Douglas Entrance in Coral Gables I spotted a large and bright blue item on the corner on my left eye. Curiosity piqued, I walked a bit closer to the destined object. It appeared brighter and quite possibly even larger…puffier in fact. It took my a moment to realize that this was A QUINCE dress, modeled by a striking girl to perfection. Now, if you live in Miami or are of the Hispanic community, then you know all too well what I mean by a Quince dress. The puffier, the brighter, the better. I looked over to Samantha and I could see a slightly worried expression in her eyes. A little closer to fear actually. The girl in blue dress preened and posed ever just so for her photographer. I realized her fear was that I too would pose her in stiff, prom-like poses. And this is not the kind of girl that fits the mold. No one puts Samantha in a corner.
I reassured her that THIS photographer would do no such thing. We would have a natural and fun shoot that would stay true to her personality. Samantha is a fun, fearless, modern girl, but still sustains a soft, wonderful glow about her. I wanted to capture that essence. All I can say is that girlfriend worked it!
Thank you so much to Samantha and her amazing family. I wish you all the best as you head into this amazing part of your life. Enjoy the ride and happy Sweet 16!
